When it comes to your health, you may have lots of nutritional knowledge and watch everything you eat or maybe you are a junk food junkie not caring too much about what you put into your body. Sluggish digestion affects your energy levels because more energy is being used by your digestive system just to fight to maintain it's basic processes. When it is working smoothly, you are properly absorbing nutrients from the good foods that you eat and efficiently eliminating the waste.
Eliminating stimulants like caffeine and sugar allows for a deeper, more restoring and restful sleep. If you are using stimulants to get through your day because you are low on energy or fatigued, you are actually perpetuating the cycle of low energy because at night when your body is supposed to be in a deep state of rest and healing, the intake of stimulants doesn't allow for that deep state to happen. And then, after not getting restful, deep sleep you are feeling sluggish during the day and again turn to caffeine and sugar to make it through. This is artificial energy and you are actually depleting your stores more than you will recognize over the short term. Do you see how this keeps you in perpetual cycle of low energy and poor habits?
